I voted myself as a full time employee. But, confused.
As per the discussions here, if for example an Infosys employee (full time) is working on a project which is outsourced to Infosys and he is reporting to a manager from Infosys, both of them working in their client's place, IS this an example of consulting or full time?
I guessed this as a full time position and voted accordingly. Could somebody explain if I am right? I would be happy if proven wrong., because then I will know that Indian giants like infy, wipro will also be affected by this bill and they will also show some consideration.

Hey thanks for your input...ya it is very frustrating to see the way things are.....initially i saw many folks jumpin the line by doin substitute labors etc...and now seein that even with May 06 u can get GC by doing CP is frustratin...

I am perhaps oversensitive over the issue of my home country as I weathered all 15 years of civil war in the former Yugoslavia before moving to the US 7 yrs ago.
Still can't get over the split of my country...:mad: :( :(

whether someone uses a loophole or not is not the point - as long as its legal - people have every right to utilize the provision of the law to their advantage........
what confuses the hell out of me is that in the last 10 years - this country has increased its population by only about 9% - coupled with increase in life expectancy - soon, there will be more retired people than working people (some legislators want to increase the retirement age to 70 in response)........a simpler solution would be a controlled population increase through organic growth as well as planned immigration

I read in the previous post that Mark Bartosik intend to defer tax filing to October.
What kind of paper work should be filed out to do this? Is there any fees associated with this?
My understanding is that even if your wife gets the SSN in 2008 and you have already filed the taxes jointly, you can claim the rebate later. Not sure where I read it. I am in a similar situation like yours...

Why does diversity make sense for family based GC's only?
As for F-1 visas, no school gives out admission to any program worth its salt merely using the nationality of the applicant as the deciding metric. Just like business, these are merit-based decisions. One gets a job ostensibly because one demonstrates the right skills, the appropriate background and the right aptitude for the job.

I received the Notice of Action (140) and I sent to Nebraska the 140-485-765 July 30 and they received it July 2.
It was sent to Texas and I got the copy of the Notice of Action today from the lawyer, I guess they will cash the other checks since they change the visa bulletin on July 17...I don't think they will reject the 485 or 765, I am sure they will process at least my 765.

Pretend CIR pass with some EB relief and here is the black side.
13 millions illegals will Jammmmmmmmmmm the USCIS, DOS, and DOL system. In 2001, Congress (Democrats) passed 245(i) and illegals have jammed Labor system. Hundreds of legal people struck in so called Backlog Elimination Center for more than 5 to 6 years. In the time of 2007 Citizenship fee increase, backlog was surged to the hell. Congress enacted law for mandatory passport requirement for western hemisphere travel and thousands of citizens rushed for passport application resulting huge backlog. Fortunately, they have lot of Godfathers to take care.
If 13 millions illegal jammmm system, even if your PD is current, you will get 10 years to get green cards (person I know had 6 years to get his labor approved due to 200K application of illegal. Image what will happen, if flood gate of 13 millions open!!). Be remember, poor legal EB community have no Godfather to help!!

after seeing this saga for last 2 years, i came to the above conclusion.
We have to do some thing to get the whole nation attention.
It will be very small task for citezens/gc holders.
Can we take their help to get nation attraction.
We can do the following decent things to get the whole nation attraction.
Resources: Placards, display material, aprons shows that we belong to non-immigrants coomunity
1) 1 to 2 days display about our problems in washington, near to senate/house/white house,with our aprons
(Placards, small tent is part of teh play)
2) One day absence from the work
3) Blood donation camps by all teh non immigrants,with our aprons
4) CIty clean programs by all teh npn immigrants, with our aprons
5) Participate in some community programs to help poor/old/childs, with our aprons
Any takers to do this small thing.
Ofcourse it shd be done in teh lead of citegens/GC holders.
As H1 's can definitely not do it.

My friend initially came on H1 visa. Her Husband was the primary applicant for Green Card and she was working on H1 visa without break. Now she is on EAD and joined a job in EAD got 2 months pay stubs( ie 8 weekly pay stubs). After that got 3 months break. Her status now is on I-485 and no more on H1. Note: Her husband was the primary applicant and she applied I-485 through her husband's GC. Now will the break in her work on EAD be a problem for getting her GC?.

i have recently stopped over in dubai on my way back from india. there is a dubai tourism counter at the lower floor just inside of the security area. ask for directions and they will guide you out there. at the tourism counter, they will help you get a hotel and visa sponsorship. the hotel i got was for about $95 a day, and it was like a luxury apartment. the hotel also arranged for our transportation to/from the airport, in addition to going around. They will hire a taxi service. It cost us about $50 for the taxi.

It's always better to get an advice from another attorney and do your home work thoroughly before filing your GC. My personal experience is my lawyer filed GC under EB2 with US Master degree showing NO experience when filing my PERM.
